This form will be used to aid in the processing of summer salary requests, please fill out the form with as much information as possible and contact your research administrator if you have any questions.
Once your summer salary calculation is finalized, the completed summer salary form will be sent to you for signature.
Things to remember:
A: NSF limited to no more than two summer months per year
B: NIH salary cap for (01/12/2014 -01/10/2015) is $181,500
NIH salary cap for (01/11/2015 -09/30/2015) is $183,300
C: Any summer salary payments NOT paid along with the employee's regular earnings (rush checks/off-cycle checks) will be taxed at a "supplemental" flat tax rate (currently 25% for Federal and 6.6% for State).
D: Compensation for summer research is not considered "Covered Compensation". Per APM 190 summer salary payments will be subject to an employee (3.5%) / employer (3.5%) contribution to the "Defined Contribution Plan" (DCP).
E: With anticipation to the change in salary scales effective 7/1/15; summer salary for (June) and (July-August) will be submitted separately and will require original signature on both forms.
