Why UC Merced?
I chose UC Merced because it is a growing university with a small student population. It allowed me to participate in undergraduate research with a faculty member.
Why Your Major?
I chose Mechanical engineering because it has a broad spectrum of fields. During my major in mechanical engineering, I discovered various fields, including vibration, Thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and CAD.
Inspiration and Mentors
My biggest inspiration is my family. They always support my academic journey.
I would also like to thank Professor Diaz for both his Intermediate Thermodynamics course and the opportunity to work with him in the undergraduate research group. It deepened my understanding and gave me hands-on experience in the field of thermodynamics.
Memorable Academic Experience
My most memorable Academic experience was the Capstone Project. I worked with four other members to build a calculator for cold storage. It allows me to learn more in the areas of heat transfer and Thermodynamics. Along with the academic parts, it allowed me to work with clients and the process of designing, verifying, and presenting a new product.
What's Next?
After graduating, I want to attend graduate school to pursue a master's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering with an emphasis on Thermodynamics. I also plan to take the FE exam as a step toward becoming a licensed engineer.
